"Focusing on Woodpecker Road in August"

In the next few weeks we are going to ask your help to shape the plans and designs to improve Woodpecker Road.

The first activity will be on Tuesday 20 July at Woodpecker Youth Club (under 21s only) from 14:30-16:30.

Background:

In the first stage of the consultation last year we received nearly 1,400 contributions in which you indicated issues you encountered in the Deptford area. Your comments on Woodpecker Road included commenting on the dangerous junction with Trundley's Road and the poor condition of the road surface for cyclists and the pavements for pedestrians. Lighting and perceived safety was also an issue.

We excited to say we are able to engage further in this area to ensure all issues are identified and solutions are discussed with residents and people who use this space.

We want to create detailed designs to address these issues and more - and for these designs to work best, we need your input.

Events:

We will be installing a large map (with pens provided) of Woodpecker Road outside the shops and invite you to write your views about the area. Come down and speak your mind anytime!

There will be two maps, the first aims to ‘discover’ the issues and the second seeks to find solutions to them. Each one will be up for around a fortnight, so feel free to make the most of it while it is there.

We will be on Woodpecker Road on August 8th from 4-7 pm to further encourage participation. There will be more events after this - watch this space!
